San Francisco 49ers Name John Lynch General Manager

The San Francisco 49ers have officially hired John Lynch to be their General Manager. There is reportedly a 6 year deal in the works for Lynch who interviewed in secret for the job. Kyle Shanahan is expected to become the next head coach for the 49ers once the Atlanta Falcons play in Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots.

Lynch played for Mike Shanahan between 2004 and 2007 while with the Broncos. Shanahan’s son, Kyle, is expected to be named the next head coach of the 49ers following the Super Bowl. CEO Jed York made the final decision on Lynch after allowing Jim Harbaugh to leave for Michigan, retaining Trent Baalke, and then failing on the proceeding coaching hire in Jim Tomsula, and Chip Kelly.
